Happy New Year

Image via threads of time

I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas. I'm going to be taking a little time off, while the husband is home for the holidays and the kids are out of school. I will be back January 4th. So to kick off the New Year we are doing a GIVEAWAY. All you have to do is tell us what you love to sew and what sewing projects you have resolved to do this year. Easy cheesy. Good luck to you. Winner will be announced the 4th. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hope your holiday season was wonderful and full of family and friends.
I am a quilter and would love to get at least 8 quilts done this year - I have been slacking off and only did two last year. I have 3 on the go already and hope to have them done before I go to work on Jan.4th/2010. Wish me luck!!

I am addicted to quilting ans love every bit of the process and all types of techniques. I try to make at least two quilts each month for Project Linus, I always have hand piecing and hand quilting projects going. I keep a redwork project at work to do during my lunch hour. I have lots of quilts in my head that I want to make in 2010, hopefully I will be able to get most of them made.

I'm making my mom a quilt, so she can see my mad skillz, and a BIG cozy quilt for the cabin! Perfect!!

I am one of those people that are going to try to get some UFO's done. My quilt group will be doing this together so we have some accountability and encouragement. Take care and God bless, Cory

My New Year's resolution is to complete the 3 Christmas quilts I've started! That's fair, right?!!! No more hoping to have them done by Christmas for gifts. All 3 will be gifts in 2010 :)

I love to create new things. This year I am working on dresses for my 4 girls (and maybe a shirt for my son). I have an idea... now I just need a new sewing machine. Mine got dropped and now it doesn't work as well.

I love simple projects! pin cushions, bags, receiving blankets, etc.

I love making skirts for my only little girl. I am hoping to get a table runner and a wall hanging finished for each season/month. I am also going to make 3 quilts to donate to Primary Children's Hospital this next year. I have a really good friend who lost a baby to SIDS this year. I will donate these quilts in his name.

So far I have been pretty basic with sewing. Mostly kids clothing. Next up on my list for the new year are robes. Plus a playhouse.

I am obsessed with sewing. I have been blessed with 2 new granddaughters this year, so I hope to sew both of them cute jumpers, dresses and blankets. I really want to learn to sew an izzy and ivy hat. I don't have any unfinished projects, so I will have to start some new ones. Maybe buggy barn?........

L love to sew just about everything. This year I plan to finish several projects that have been waiting for a couple of years to be completed - including a Mary Englebreit - Night Before Christmas book and a Nancy Halvorsen - nativity wall hanging - along with a snowman quilt kit that I just bought from Gracie Lou's!!

My very most favorite thing to sew is dresses for my little girl. The first project for next year will be the EVA dress by Izzy and Ivy. Can't wait!

I love to sew cute clothes for my baby girl - the funkier, the better. I am not patient enough to be a quilter, but I'm trying, so this year's sewing resolution is to FINISH the matching Christmas quilt and table runner that I started at the beginning of the month.

I love fabric and I love making quilts. I have vowed that I am not going to start any new projects until I have finished 5 of my work in progress quilts, off course that doesn't stop me from dreaming about new projects that I want to make. Quilting is such a stress reliever for me. If I quilt a little a day I am a happier woman.

I just discovered sewing a few months ago and I have to admit I'm completely addicted! I love making projects for the people I love. For Christmas I made a crayon roll, apron, and baby apron for my 3-year old. I love to go into Gracie Lou's and gawk at all the cute projects. My project list for the new year is long, but I'm hoping it includes those adorable hats on display, a few handbags, and hopefully my first quilt.

Happy New Year!! So excited for this year and to stay on top of projects instead of slacking off! There are so many things I love about sewing I guess my favorite is learning tricks and secrets from experienced sewers that will help me out in my projects. I'm still a beginner so every little bit of information helps :) This year I hope to get better at making and putting together clothes. I recently got a bunch of Izzy and Ivy patterns that I'm super thrilled about making. I think it would be great if you guys did a Izzy and Ivy class once a month on a Saturday I would love to learn from the experts on how to assembly your amazing patterns :) Maybe offer a membership and set up a forum for all addicts were you can get more help, more classes to learn new/old techniques. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Quilting is my first love, so of course I have dozens on my list. The biggest project I want to tackle is my I-Spy quilt. I've been collecting 2 1/2" cut "spies" for about five years (I have about 500 now!) with the intent of making a quilt to fit on MY bed, and I think it is finally time to put them together!

Definitely quilting for me. I have resolved to polish up my skills in paper piecing and applique this year, so I need to make lots of quilts to give myself lots of practice!

I love to sew when ever I can and I would love to finish the 5 different quilt projects I have right now. I would love to make a queen sized quilt for my spare bedroom. Something fun and outrages.

I bought fabric at Gracie Lou’s before Christmas to make my three children quilts for Christmas. I never got them finished. I would like to get them finished before Easter. Wish me luck!!!

I wish I could say I was a "quilter" I probably don't qualify for that title, but I would like to finish a couple of the quilts I have started as well as sew some fun table runners.
