Where do you sew?

This week's question is -
Where do you do your sewing?
Do you sew in a Studio,
a Sewing room,
a Table,
or a dump?
We are working on a post that will show you where we sew, and where we wish we were sewing.
Lola likes to call her sewing room a "studio" because it makes her feel "cool".
Shasta reported that her sewing spot is a "dump" but she is working on her "studio" right now.
The prize this week??? Cutting room scraps. No really! We've got boxes of cool fabric cuts that we don't have time to use because the new fabric keeps pouring in. Shasta promises to post pics of the bits of beauty!
Have a great week! Tell people about the give away! Buy some fabric, it makes you happy!

I usually sew in my office. . . but it's a mess. . .so I need to keep moving other things in order to put my sewing machine on the desk. Someday I will have a special place for just sewing.

I do have a small "crap room" where I store my fabric and crafts--but I do my sewing at the kitchen table. Who needs to eat?
I've posted a couple of pictures here:

I sew on my computer desk- since I have a laptop that I usually work with on the couch, the desk is the perfect spot for me@ So jealous of people with "studios"

I have permantly (much to my husband's dismay) set up a 8 foot table in our dining space. He hates the clutter but I keep telling him as soon as he gets our basement finished I will hide my stuff in a room and he'll never have to see it again. I do love where my table is because it had great windows and light and I can watch my kids playing in the living room.

I sew in my 'study'. It's our spare bedroom and was a place for me to store all my books, do my 'real' job (I'm a teacher, so usually have piles of marking to do) and to store things. Now, it has been overtaken with my 3 year old daughters things - chest of drawers, clothes she has grown out of, old toys, scrapbooks of all her art work, as well as all my books and marking and since Christmas, my sewing machine. It's a bit of a miracle I can find anything other than the sewing machine in there, which I must say, takes pride of place!

I sew in what we affectionally call our "garage". We live in 3 BR student housing with no storage space. So my sewing room also houses 3 floor to ceiling book shelves, my husband's massive desk; all of our camping, snowboarding, rock climbing, sport playing gear; out of season clothes, and all the things my husband can't help buying at garage sales and reselling online.

I sew in what I cleverly call my "sewing room". I have been told I can call it a studio because it doesn't have a bed in it. It is actually a bedroom with a computer in it as well. I have room for by big board ironing board, a bookcase full of stash and a closet full of books, supplies, fabric, etc. Now that I have had this room I can never be without a sewing room again! I love scraps because I applique and sometimes you just need a little piece of something to make it perfect.

I sew in my sewing room, which is really my daughter's room, but she is away at college! But I've left all of her things on the walls. One day...I'm going to give the room a fun make-over!!!

I sew in my master bedroom/nursery/office. We live back east so space is expensive. Next month we move though so I'll be sewing in my office/den.
To make it a little more fabric friendly we've hung fashion sketches above my machine.

I have a sewing room/craft room/office, which my husband (affectionately I'm sure) calls "Mom's Crap Room".

I actually sew in my living room, we cleared a space, and let me set up shop. It is not a "studio", but it is great for me :) It's my space, where I can be me! I love it- it makes me smile to see my little corner of creation :)

I definately do my long arm quilting in a studio. My regular machine is currently set up in the laundry room, but when I am in for many hours of sewing, I move it to the toy room so I can sew while my kids play.

I have a sewing room that I sew in now. I got to choose one of the bedrooms after all the kids flew away from the nest. It just needs a fun make over which I'm working on a little at a time.

I sew in our spare "bedroom". It has a shelving unit full of toys, our food storage, and treadmill and HUGE t.v. and a litle space on a desk where my machine is. So yes, a dump:)

The living room in our house has been converted to my sewing room/home office. We aren't formal living room kind of people so that room would have been wasted. Take care and God bless, Cory

I am currently sewing in my room because I have no room (ha!). But that should be changing soon (I'm on a roll hehehe). I am moving and now I will have a whole room for my crafts and sewing. So much stuff and so little room. I can't wait.

My sewing machine is in the bedroom/upstairs of our house. (we only have 2 rooms) I usually do my cutting downstairs on a card table I store under the couch. Sometimes I get my husqvarna out and sew at the kitchen table.r

I sew in our living/dining/computer room. We live in a small apartment and space is limited. I can't sew after 10 pm because the walls are too thin. And my hubby doesn't like when I sew during day time hours because he can't hear the tv. LOL. I have to wait till he retires from the Army before I get my sewing room.

I sew in a corner of our living room. The room is l-shaped and i use one part of it. It's a good place to be and i'm always available for the rest of the family.

I plant my sewing machine on our kitchen table- then threaten any who might move or touch my fabric! We just eat dinner standing or on our laps in the living room. Someday I will have a "moms room" where my 3 little boys will not be aloud in! :)

Hey Shasta- it's Sam, Kelli's sis/Sandra's daughter. Just thought I would drop a note since our blog is private. If you want- email me and I will send an invite!

I sew in a tiny corner of our living room. I set my ironing table up in the kitchen. When I do a quilt, I set up a couple craft tables in the kitchen, but then nobody can get in the kitchen lol.

I love the idea of having a studio...maybe some day! I sew in our basement kitchen. It has a little island for my cutting table and my sewing maching is on the dining table. From August to October it turns back to a kitchen where I bottle. After that I'm so ready to go back to sewing! I look forward to having one of those flannel walls I can place my pieces on to see the quilt as it is being built. The dog keeps walking on my blocks as I lay them out on the floor! :)

I am dreaming of the day when I will have a "studio" where I don't have to put away my projects. For now it is the kitchen table

I do my sewing in our dining room. Well, that is what it is supposed to be anyway, but we converted it into an office/sewing area. It'll do for now until I can have my own sewing room. One day...

I have an entire room dedicated to sewing, but I really like to sew in the dinning room. when i sew in my sewing room I feel so isolated.

I love my sewing room! I have 3 teenagers, so I love having a room that I can close the door and have some privacy, and sometimes I even get some sewing done. LOL

if i'm feeling daring than i sew at the kitchen table, where i usually have one child on my lap, one trying to help with the foot pedal and another playing with the pins. if i'm not feeling as adventurous than i have a room downstairs where i can hide away, but what fun is that?

I sew in my sewing/work out/office/library/spare bedroom. It also operates as a toy room or theater room when I am working on a project and need to entertain little ones. :)

I have a sewing desk. :)

I currently sew in my corner of our upstairs, which houses the desktop computer we rarely use, a bookshelf, the kids' kitchen, a futon and then some. I am able to use the ironing board upstairs... but do cut out my material I have to do that on my kitchen table. I would love an actual sewing room.

We just finished the basement and now I have my very own craft room. My family just calls it "Mommy's Room". I'm still putting the finishes touches on it and as soon as I get a TV in there, I'll be sewing away in it. For now, I sew on the kitchen table. Unfortunately that makes us have to eat at the bar. :(

I sew in my unfinished basement so i can make a big mess. It is named the "trash hole" It amazing how many beautiful things I can find and create in the trash hole. One day I hope to have a beautiful well lit studio:)

sew...who said anything about sewing with all the fabric and a machine.. I just thought you were supposed to look at all the pretty colors and designs and dream about all the projects "I'm going to make".

I have an extra bedroom that has been trnasformed into sewing heaven. You turn on one switch and the sewing machine, iron, tv or music all turn on. I have always wanted to leave my sewing machine and stuff out, so now I can. My sweet husband made me two bookcase like shelves from ceiling to floor to hold fabric and also a corner cabinet that I can cut on and organizes my notions. I wish I could LIVE there.

I sew at the kitchen table. I would love a "crap" room but until that day comes I'll just keep sewing on. Who cares where you sew as long as you get to sew...right?! Fabric therapy is good no matter where it's produced.

I have a small little scrapbooking/quilting area in our study right now... I'm thinking of calling it my "Creation Corner" or something like that. It's small but it gets the job done :D

I turned a spare bedroom into my private sewing oasis. Stack of fabric and uncompleted projects everywhere. My kids call it a dungeon. I want to make padded fabric panels for the front of my cupboards. Any hints how to accomplish this?

I have the tree house dream sewing room up Hobble Creek Canyon. I look out to the tree tops of 80 ft. Maples and love it during every season. I feel like I am sewing in the tops of the trees with all the birds around me.
